HEY THERE, I’M CAROLYN
It’s so nice to meet you! I specialize in family photography, capturing portraits and events of all kinds in Philadelphia, the Main Line and beyond.
MY JOURNEY
Raised between Center City Philadelphia and its suburbs, I'm a proud wife and mother to a 14-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son.
Transitioning to professional photography when my children started school full-time, I now specialize in family photography, capturing portraits and events commemorating your life and family.
Portraits capture people. It can be photos of Families, Seniors, Pets, Proms (a favorite!), Engagements or any number of fun activities that capture your life and lifestyle like making and eating a meal, a kids sport, searching for your families christmas tree or playing a favorite game.
Events capture your family milestones. I love being able to document these important times with photos that tell the story of a special day. Like Mitzvahs, Birthdays, or Anniversaries or Reunions.
I've always cherished the art of capturing moments. I love delivering final curated galleries because I’m so excited for you to see all the edited photos for the first time. It makes me smile to imagine the flood of memories that must come back as you go through the images.
My journey into photography began in high school when a family friend gave me a Canon TX for my photography class. From using film and learning to develop and print in a darkroom way back then, to using a mirrorless digital camera today, I've always cherished the art of capturing moments.
And then beyond that, for my own home and for my clients, I adore seeing favorite photos displayed, serving as timeless reminders of love and connection. No matter how much photography gear evolves, the images taken are the same as they were when photography began. They magically capture and freeze a moment in time.
I never went to art school, but my artistic eye is one of the few things that I feel unwaveringly confident about. I think of it as one of my superpowers. That artistic eye is what I use when I pick the best shots from your session to be part of the final gallery.
If we work together and you decide you want me to assist with printing and displaying your photos, it’s that eye that ensures that you will be thrilled with the final result.

Beyond The Camera
Beyond photography, other loves and interests, learning italian, going to hip-hop dance, most all handwork (think knitting, embroidery, needle felting) and natural fabric dyeing. If I wasn't trying to build my photography business, I'd be partners in My Dye Garden Studio and launch a line of naturally hand-dyed napkins, dish towels, counter wipes and tablecloths.
I’d be surprised if anyone was still reading, but, another love of mine is natural skin care. I get very excited on the rare occasions that I meet someone that is interested in discussing skin care regimen. I especially like finding and trying new products. And I’m extremely strict about using up every last little bit before I open the new one. I have tiny spatulas and will cut open packages to scrape out the last little bit. Sometimes it can be weeks between thinking something is really empty and when I’ve truly exhausted the contents completely. It makes opening the new product that am DYING to start using, that much sweeter. Here is a list of the products I am currently using along with my thoughts and my daily routine. But since I love trying new things, it's always changing. There are a few things that stay constant, but I am always on the lookout for new products to try.

Photos For Racial Justice
Since George Floyd's death, I've had to confront my own biases and privilege. In response, I decided to commit 10% of each session's gross proceeds to organizations advocating for racial justice policy change. It's fulfilling to know that my business growth will translate into more meaningful contributions to these causes.
